How to practice · guide tones & enclosures

Guide tones: land on the destination tone, then play the departure tone on the last beat of each chord. A 7–3 exercise plays 3rd → 7th → next chord’s 3rd.

Enclosures: hold the current target, then play a half step above and a half step below the next target on the final beat and its “and.” Resolve when the next chord begins. Choose the reverse order in Practice controls. Two-chord bars use beats 2 & and 4 & for approaches. Example notes let you hear the exercise.

Chord tones are shown in 1–3–5–7 order. These are simplified practice arrangements; charts and turnarounds vary. Compact mode reduces spacing; long forms may still scroll on small screens. Auto-scroll follows the active chord only when checked. Backing is synthesized. No microphone grading.
